Ek Veer Ki Ardaas - Veera : Ranvijay and Veera share a sweet bond

One of the most important human relations is the bond of a husband and a wife. A relationship that surpasses the promise of all other relations, where a woman fights even death for her husband. Veera is the story that challenges this postulate and glorifies another relation, which is the building block of a family – the bond between a brother and a sister.

In a world driven by materialism, family bonds have diluted. There is usually an agenda attached with building and maintaining relations. The joint family system has evolved into nuclear families and facing the challenges that come with it have fragmented families further.

Strained relations, mundane pressures breaking marriages and dysfunctional families are a simple manifestation of the complex lives that an average householder is living, or candidly struggling with. In these testing times, the love between Veera and Ranvijay will become a beacon of hope for people.

Veera is a story of complex human relations but narrated through the simple lens of the innocent love between Ranvijay who becomes a mother-figure for his sister Veera.

To know more about Veera, her family and her relationship with Ranvijay. Watch Veera, starting 29th Oct, Mon-Fri 10:30 PM on STAR Plus.

“I don’t think I’ll ever forgive Sarpanchji”, says Ratanjeet

Sarpanchji has betrayed my trust. How could he not tell me about his past relationship with Amrita? I am his wife.

Marriage is a sacred bond and keeping this in mind, it becomes a responsibility of both the husband and wife to respect this bond and be truthful to each other.

I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to face Sarpanchji again. I have given my heart and soul for the well being of this family. The worst of my fears came true  when the villagers questioned his integrity due to this disturbing event.

My only support in the current circumstances is Chaiji. She was the one who stopped me from attending Amrita’s funeral. I have always admired Sarpanchji  for his righteousness. “Mein samajh nahi sakti ki uparwala acche logon ke saath itna bura kyon karta hai. Kya haq hai use kisiki zindgagi bigadneka?”

The decision to break my relationship with Sarpanchji was tormenting for me. I still love him dearly. But after what has happened, I wonder if things would ever be the same again between me and him.

Do let me know your thoughts on this and keep watching Ek Veer Ki Ardaas - Veera, Mon-Fri at 10:30PM.

‘I am shaken by Antara’s behaviour,” says Akshara

I was really disturbed by Antara’s behaviour the other day. She is an educated woman and a nice person at heart. But such erratic behaviour at times confuses me.  It then becomes difficult to handle her.

I pray that Daddaji does not take offense and forgives her. She seems be to be going through a rough patch in her life and is desperately seeking love and affection. Like the other day when Radhe chacha visited us she was trying really hard to be a part of the family.

But at times I fear that she might create a rift between Naitik and me. Her actions seem suggestive of such an intention at times. I am doing everything in my capacity to avert trouble.

It is a tightrope walk for me as Anatara is Naitikji’s friend and me being his wife should control relationships from faltering.

I sincerely wish that Antara realises that her behaviour is affecting her and secondly everybody in the Singhania family. The sooner she understands the better.

Akshara and Naitik are warm and thoughtful couple!

Our birdie seems to be totally in love with our darling Akshara and dearest Naitik. And why not, after all, they are such impeccable examples of sweetness and understanding! Their love and respect for each other filled the birdie with joy.

Our birdie had been hearing a lot of buzz about our mature jodi Naitik-Akshara. Ultimately, it could not resist the temptation to go see for itself what they were up to. And it turned out that not only all is hunky-dory with them but they have made the life of the production crew much easier with their understanding nature. Our lovely Akshara understands every issue that the production unit faces while shooting for a daily show. Naitik too cooperates with the crew. The entire cast extends their support to the production unit. And that is how, they get their daily work done with minimum fuss.

No wonder, Akshara and Naitik’s off-screen considerate nature can be felt and seen on-screen too. They always greet their fans and well-wishers with a smile and make them comfortable. Naitik's memory made a huge impact on our birdie. He recognizes people even after having met them once and does not hesitate to acknowledge them. Charming, well-mannered, soft-spoken and a caring son, father and husband, that is what our Naitik is! This mature and sensible couple complements each other in every aspect. The birdie also found out that Akshara's dialogue delivery is flawless. Both Naitik and Akshara are perfect professionals, confident and don't rest till they have delivered a perfect shot. Now, the birdie could not wait to meet them again and soon!

Know About Sugni and "Phir Subah Hogi" Serial On Zee TV

Theatre artist Gulki Joshi can’t ask for more, as she has bagged the lead role in Zee TV's brand new offering, Phir Subah Hogi.

It deals with the injustice towards women in Bedia community prevalent in Bundelkhand region, Madhya Pradesh. They are a tribe known for their beautiful Raai Dance. But over the years, the tradition of Raai dance has become exploitative in nature forcing women to undergo the ritual of Sar Dhakaai; in the garb of which women are exploited and abused.

Against such a heart-rending backdrop, the show traces the journey of Sugni, a bedni by birth who wants to break free from this social evil and lead a dignified life. Theatre artist, Gulki Joshi has been roped in to play the pivotal role of Sugni.

This is Gulki's television debut but she is already in the news for her acting prowess and diligence. Talking about her journey so far, she says, "My mother says that ever since I have gained consciousness, I have wanted to become an actor. I was clear in my head that Sugni of Phir Subah Hogi will be my launch pad as this is exactly the kind of role I was waiting for."

Its the Story of 'Sugni', born in bedia tribe, young Sugani is also being made to realize that she is no exception and she will have to do the same what her mother has been doing so far-'Rai and prostitution' but since Sugni is a little literate and has got decent knowledge about the world outside her tribe, she knows about the life of other women who live their lives with pride, unlike a Bedni; those who are someone's daughter, someone's sister, and someone's lawful wife... those who reside in the 'Homes' and lead a life which is well protected by a roof of relations over their heads, unlike a Bedni who is meant to be the amusement for all the men of the vicinity. Sugni wants the same roof of relations for herself. She aspires to become a bride, desires to become a daughter-in-law, she wants to be a 'one man' woman instead of someone who belongs to all the men. No other Bedni has ever dared to dream of her own wedding instead of performing at others' weddings. But that's what Sugni dreams of-'getting married!'

This is not just a dream. Its Sugni's attempt to change the age old tradition, which the corrupt society will never let go off. The blossom of Sugni's youth has already become the talk of the town, she has become the new sensation and heart throb amongst the men. So many decent propositions for her 'Sardhakai' ( a ritual before she enters the trade), are already her way. And this is sufficient enough to encourage her mamas who find it difficult to manage the expenditure to the family with what their aging sister earns. They start making their own plans for a bright future but as Sugni's refusal to Rai and Sardhakai shifts the ground beneath them.

In her journey sugni will not only encounter the evil face of the man who becomes her 'owner' but she will also experience the love with young adityababu who inspite of belonging to the thakur clan showers her with respect and holds her diginity.

In this story we intend to tell the story of those who are marginalized due to the social deformities. Sugni's story represents the story of those who are neither demanding a ground nor a sky of their own, but the right to feel being human and to be proud of that, is all what they are asking for.

BACKDROP-

Bundelkand constitutes to the pride heritage of our country with the courageous tales and the colorful tradition of 'Bundelas'; but the same Bundelkhand, on the contrary sets an example of heinous human exploitation by a so called tradition of a tribal group called Bedia-the tradition of 'Rai dance'. The word 'Rai' is derived from 'Rasa' a dance performed by lord Krishna. As per the tradition 'Rai' was meant for pleasing the lord but later it deformed and became a medium of pleasing the devotees rather. With the course of time further more deformities took place and Rai dance became a part of general celebrations and social gathering finally getting victimized by human desires. Since the main occupation of Bedia tribe has been Rai dance, it gradually became insufficient for the livelihood of the entire family, therefore the Rai performers inevitably entered the flesh trade under constraint, for the sake of the bread and butter of their families.  And this constraint later took the form of the tradition for them. Although flesh trade is not the stated occupation of the tribals of Bedia Tribe but the fact is that, today its their main occupation well covered behind the colors of Rai Dance. This is the reason why the word Bedni, meaning the women of Bedia tribe i.e. the Rai performers, is used as an epithet in the local language.

This is a story where a group of people, conspires against another group of people by limiting their right to live life normally. The story of a tradition which allows humans to treat other humans as animals, rather means of their own amusement. It is a story of those who lead a doomed life taking it as a punishment given by the almighty and think its nothing but their destiny to remain like this. It is also a story of those who use their entity, power and wealth to make other humans into their slaves, those who claim to be the representatives of the society and in fact shame the society itself. This story attempts to expose the truth of the tradition, which is relished by the civilized society as one of its high standards, and which actually shames the humanity.
