As if Bristol Palin's votes on Dancing With the Stars wasn't controversial enough with accusations flying that Palin fans figured out how to stuff the ballot box, former Vice-Presidential candidate Sarah Palin's Alaska showed the outdoors woman clubbing a fish to its death. To add even more drama, Bristol later holds the fish's still beating heart in her hand; a sight Sarah called "weird."
Alaska Charter Associates stated that halibut clubbing is standard practice among fishermen; a spokesperson labeled it humane. In Defense of Animals, a national humane non-profit organization located in San Rafael, California called it a "snuff video."

"Most disturbing is the way she seems to enjoy causing suffering to other beings. When they laugh about the beating heart that Bristol holds in her hand, their complete insensitivity to the animal kingdom becomes clear," stated a spokesperson for the organization. The reality shows airs on U.S. Cable network TLC, but has been quickly losing its audience. Ratings have decreased by 40 percent since the debut of the show which drew five million viewers.
" I didn't need to watch her beating a fish to death. I know it's a reality show, but something about Sarah Palin and all of the photos I have seen with her killing animals just doesn't inspire me to think of her as any kind of political leader. It's all too gruesome and heartless," states Karen Wilkensen of Stuart, Florida.Last evening Bristol Palin came in third at the final show of Dancing With the Stars after Kyle Massey and winner Jennifer Grey.
