The Indian version of the Canadian hit show The Week The Woman Went is all set to make its debut on the small screen. Titled Wife Bina Life, the show will explore the home managerial qualities of a husband whose wife has taken some time off from her daily household chores.
The show will be shot in Pune and will span over 16 episodes. It will be hosted by Cyrus Sahukar and Mini Mathur, the anchors we have loved to love. 10 real life couples will participate in the show. Wife Bina Life will also have celebrity couples as guests to pep up the show and pull up its TRP. The show will reaffirm the truth that husbands do not know their house as their wives do. What the husbands do at the kitchen and how they manage their kids when their respective wives suddenly go missing is for the viewers to see. The husbands have to run the family without any helping hand.
The Canadian show has had two successful seasons in 2008 and 2009. Wife Bina Life will be jointly produced by Star Plus and BBC Worldwide Entertainment. The Senior Creative Director of Star Plus, Monica Shergill said that it’s a “slice of life show” and it will challenge the “gender stereotypes”. The aim of the show is to strengthen the bond between the husband and the wife by making the former aware of the responsibilities and importance of the later.
We thank Star Plus for taking on the mammoth task of making the husbands realize the true meaning of the word homemaker.
